TK-117 (Bio-Repellent)
KK AgrotechTK-117 (chitosan) is a linear polysaccharide that can be obtained from the deacetylation of chitin, a long-chain polymer of N-acetyl-glucosamine present and easily extracted from fungal cell wall and crustacean shells From a practical viewpoint, the shells of marine crustaceans such as crabs and shrimps are very affordable for a commercial production of chitin. They represent a practical challenge because they are available as waste from the seafood processing industry. Recent advances in fermentation technologies suggest that the cultivation of selected fungi can provide an alternative source of chitin and TK-117 (chitosan).
TK-117 (chitosan) also prevents the growth of several pathogenic bacteria including Xanthomonas, Pseudomonas syringae, Agrobacterium tumefaciens and Erwinia carotovora However, the antimicrobial effectiveness of TK-117 (chitosan) seems to be higher against fungi than bacteria and among bacteria often been higher against Gram-positive than Gram-negative ones, even if this efficiency is somewhat controversial. This could be explained by the different structure of the bacteria surface and cell wall composition Besides these activities, TK-117 (chitosan) is able to inactivate the replication of viruses and viroids thus limiting their spread even though relatively few research studies on its antiviral activity have been reported .
Target Pest : Various pastes like Thrips, Mites, Tea-mosquito bug, bettles, grass hopper and all Sucking pastes etc. Diseases like Leaf Blight, Leaf Spot, Cankers, Bacterial Blight, Cucumber mosaic virus, Leaf curl virus, Yellow vein mosaic, papaya mosaic virus etc.
Crops : All types of Horticulture Plants, Pomegranate, Mango, Banana, Strawberry, Tomato, Potato, Paddy, Chillies, Colour Capsicum, Okra, Papaya, Cucurbits, Spices, Tea and Coffee Plantation etc.
Good performance result found in the Bacterial Blight and oily spot (telya) disease in Pomegranate cultivation.
Application : Use TK-117 as 2ml to 3ml in 1 lit. of water for spraying purpose. It applied with good quality sticker perform best results. 1 lit. per acer for soil drenching purpose.
